Square’s Card Case app becomes Pay with Square to speed up payments and boost discovery

Square’s Card Case app becomes Pay with Square to speed up payments and boost discovery

Square has updated and rebranded its mobile payment iOS app, which is now called Pay with Square. As you may remember, it was previously called Card Case.

While the startup hasn’t made any official announcement yet, “pay with” is a very actionable name, and we can assume that its purpose is to boost Square’s adoption and repeated use.

At the moment, Jack Dorsey’s new venture is working on gaining traction with both merchants and users. As we reported a couple weeks ago, it has recently started to roll out its hardware in New York taxis.

Besides its new name, the app’s version 2.0 also includes a redesign, aimed at making it faster and simpler to use, with a particular focus on discovery. Following the update, Square hopes that users will find new merchants more easily – and obviously, “pay with Square.”
