Bloomberg is reporting that mobile payments company Square has filed for its initial public offering today to little fanfare. It was a confidential filing, so no numbers are known yet, and Bloomberg isn’t revealing its sources as they asked not to be identified.
Reports of Square readying itself to go public have been flying around since at least 2013, but today those rumors finally come to fruition.
The news comes a little more than a month after CEO Jack Dorsey was also established as interim CEO of Twitter – a company he co-founded – after Dick Costolo stepped down from the role.
