Sprint has today confirmed that it will be offering its iPhone users unlimited 3G data and a 5GB cap on hotspot data, reports Phone Scoop. Customers looking to purchase the iPhone 4S will have more choices of carrier than ever this time around as the news device is arriving on Sprint as well as Verizon and AT&T.
Sprint spokesperson Michelle Leff Mermelstein told All Things D that “we will be offering the benefit of our unlimited plans that start at just $69.99,” which includes unlimited data and 450 voice minutes as well as unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling. If you want unlimited calling as well it jumps to $99 a month.
When quizzed if the network would be able to take the strain of thousands of iPhone users, Mermelstein said, “we have every confidence in the ability of our 3G network to handle the influx of devices we expect to get. it certainly hasn’t been an issue to date.”
This parity among three major networks in the US makes it more important than ever for each carrier to find a distinguishing characteristic to draw customers toward it that may have purchased the device on one of its competitors. As Sascha Segan puts it, Sprint is Unlimited, Verizon is Reliable and AT&T is Fast.

Pre-orders begin October 7th for the iPhone 4S, for an October 14th release, but currently Apple’s home page says “Sprint coming soon” so we’re not sure when exactly it will be available.
