Spotify for iOS app gets concert dates on artist pages, ability to search playlists and user profiles

Spotify teamed up with Songkick last month to list upcoming concerts on artists’ profile pages throughout its desktop app. Today, that functionality has been rolled out to Spotify’s iPhone and iPad apps too.

Now, whenever you select a band or singer somewhere in the iOS app, a new ‘On Tour’ section will be listed partway down their assigned profile page, somewhere underneath popular tracks and related artists.

Tap once and Spotify will bring up the event page in-app, with a link for buying tickets and further information over on the Songkick site.

Today’s update also marks the gradual roll-out for Spotify’s new deep-dive search offering, which allows users to get instant results and “the ability to search playlists and user profiles.” The iOS app now also supports Japanese, Russian and Indonesian languages for the first time.
