Sony drops support for PlayStation Mobile gaming service on newer versions of Android

Sony Japan has confirmed that the company will no longer be supporting its PlayStation Mobile for Android service. Instead, it’s encouraging any developers building games for the platform to transition across to creating content for the PlayStation Vita and Vita TV.

There’s a good chance you might not have been aware that Sony’s PlayStation Mobile for Android service even existed, which is really part of the reason that the long-running attempt to get indie devs building mini-games for specifically certified mobile devices is now being abandoned.

PSAndroidVersions

For PlayStation Certified devices running Android 4.4.2 and lower, all your content should still work just fine. Anything newer than that and you’re likely to run into potential problems.
