Sony has just announced the official PlayStation App will be coming soon to both the iPhone app store and Android marketplace.

According to their blog, the free app will be available to download for iPhone and iPod Touch with OS 4 and above and on most Android compatible handsets with a minimum of OS 1.6. The app will allow users to keep up to date with friends’ games and online stats. Search for new games, news and hardware relating to the PS3, PSP and PS2.

The first version (1.0) will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands. More details to come on when the App will go live.
