Fortunately, I haven’t seen one of these in some time, but clearly one hacker decided it was time to resurrect the classic piece of junk.
So the team at mbed, decided to teach him some new tricks. Transplanting Billy with an mbed Microcontroller and an SD card, he played a selection of much more entertaining .wav files.
Billy’s new voice was a hit, but the hackers in them thought more could be done. So last week they decided to add an ethernet connection and taught him to watch on twitter for mentions of @mbedmicro, and say what he sees.
Sadly the fish is offline at this moment, but you can Tweet him when online again and he will say the words out loud (live here).
