Seedcamp, the pan-European micro-investment fund and startup accelerator based out of London, has signed an agreement with Nokia that will see the Finnish phone maker become its latest annual sponsor, joining Google, Microsoft (BizSpark), Barclays, Qualcomm and PayPal.
The deal with Nokia will help Seedcamp to continue running its operations and events all across Europe, and comes a little over two months before the fund is hosting its Seedcamp Week in London.
Seedcamp notes:
We have worked with the team at Nokia for several years, and have always received great support from the organisation – both as mentors and business partners for our companies. We are now working together more formally, with closer ties to the Nokia developer experience team, and support for both incoming startups and the companies already in the Seedcamp Family.
Yannick Debaupte, Nokia’s head of developer experience for Europe, notes that being a full Seedcamp sponsor, will help the company work more closely with the startup and developer communities across Europe.
New team member, new event
Seedcamp is today also announcing that it has promoted Hilary Szymujko to the role of Investment Manager after an internship. In the new role, she will help manage the deal processes and portfolio relations for Seedcamp.
Meanwhile, Seedcamp is gearing up for its big four-day Seedcamp Week event (2-5 September, London), which The Next Web will be attending.
Throughout the week, there will be content (including keynote speakers and master classes) and networking events, and after that new teams will move into Seedcamp’s home at Google Campus in London.
Seedcamp originally launched in May 2007, backed by a number of European venture capital firms and chaired by Index Ventures’ Saul Klein.
It has since made investments in over 90 startups.
