Security app Lookout expands to enterprise, partners with Samsung to beef up its Knox system

Security app Lookout expands to enterprise, partners with Samsung to beef up its Knox system

Given the rise in the number of employees bringing their own devices to work all over the world, company data is increasingly being accessed out of the corporate network, which could pose certain risks.

Lookout, the company behind the mobile security app with the same name, has announced that it is expanding to the business market as it seeks to tap on this opportunity, setting out to provide companies protection against such mobile threats and keep their data secure.

Lookout for Business will debut later this year, but as a first step, it is partnering Samsung to beef up the Korean firm’s Knox security system for enterprises — adding an additional layer of protection which will offer real-time, cloud-based scanning to protect against malware, Web-based threats, and privacy breaches. In the coming months, Lookout will come pre-installed on all new Samsung Knox devices.
