Yup, you read the headline correctly. Nintendo is launching a 2D version of its handheld gaming console, costing around $50 less and letting you play the original 3DS (and DS) games in, well, 2D.
Costing $129.99, the Nintendo 2DS will be launching for North America gamers on October 12. Visual functionality aside, it will feature the same features and hardware as the 3DS.
