Report: Cord-cutting fan favorite Sling TV has 600,000 monthly subscribers

According to sources, Sling TV has right around 600,000 monthly subscribers.

That’s at least $12 million per month for Dish via Sling TV, which was launched last year at CES and boasts of partners such as HBO and ESPN.

It’s rumored Apple is chasing the Sling TV model — and now we know why. While Dish obviously pays a tidy sum to networks for the right to stream content, Sling operates with relatively low overhead when compared to traditional TV.

Sling TV is still tight-lipped about how many subscribers it actually has, so there’s no official way to confirm this rumor. Even if it’s in the ballpark, though — it’s impressive.
