Apple’s purported car is now coming in 2019, according to The Wall Street Journal.
“People familiar with the matter” say Apple is tripling its 600-strong automotive team, and is moving forward after meeting with officials in California. Presumably, at least one of the groups Apple met with was the DMV.
While full autonomy is part of the long-term plan, sources indicate Apple’s first car won’t be driverless. I’m looking forward to Jony Ive’s take on the steering wheel.
