Queen Rania puts social media to the test with the “1 Goal” Campaign at Le Web. #join1goal

Queen Rania puts social media to the test with the “1 Goal” Campaign at Le Web. #join1goal

During an inspiring speech at LeWeb today, Queen Rania of Jordan issued an inspiring call to bloggers, entrepreneurs and technologists across the globe with a campaign called 1 Goal.

In 2000, 164 world governments came together to create the Education for All Goals – that promised to give everyone a free quality education by 2015. World leaders also committed to the UN Millennium Development Goals that aimed to end poverty by 2015 – and include these 2 goals on education:

  • Ensure that all boys and girls complete primary schooling by 2015.
  • Make sure that girls have the opportunity for education at all levels by 2015.

Putting online activism and social media to the test Queen Rania aims to rally the web behind her in a quest to bring quality education to all.

The Queen wants anyone and everyone to use their most popular product, channel and voice for at least one day to promote the cause and convince world leaders to provide quality education to all by 2015.
