Here’s something you might not expect in this mobile-first world: the majority of Product Hunt‘s tech-savvy users access the site through a desktop browser. With that in mind, the company is today launching a lightweight Mac app to help you explore new products whenever you have a free minute.
The app lives in the status bar and simply lists the day’s most upvoted products, games, podcasts, and books. The list will be updated as the day goes on so you can keep up with what people are getting most excited about.
The light-touch approach is definitely a good idea. I reckon I’m more likely to click the ‘P’ icon at the top of my screen throughout the day than I am to deliberately point my browser at the Product Hunt website or open its iOS app.
