Post to Ping.fm via Quicksilver!

Post to Ping.fm via Quicksilver!

picture-119I can’t begin to tell you how long I’ve been waiting for a developer to put hand to keyboard and developer a Ping.fm plugin for Quicksilver.

We’ll shortly be posting a detailed post about the beauty of Quicksilver as an application, but for now, I’d like to introduce you to Silverping.

Silverping, is a simple script for Quicksilver,

Download this script

Add your Ping.fm User Key (http://ping.fm/key/) to the script by opening it with script editor.Save and drag it into your QuickSilver Actions folder, which is “~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/Actions/”.

Restart QuickSilver, and then type “.” to bring up the text field, type your text, press tab and type “silverping” and hit return.

If you have Growl installed you will get a message saying that your text was posted.

That’s it, that’s all you need to do.

BUT if you’re a Quicksilver fanatic, and if you’re reading this, I’ll presume you are. Here’s an awesome little script to shorten URL’s on the fly.

The 💜 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

Download this script and drag it into your QuickSilver Actions folder, which is “~/Library/Application Support/Quicksilver/Actions/”.

Restart QuickSilver, and then type “.” to bring up the text field, paste or type in your URL, press tab and select ‘Shorten URL’ and hit return.

If you have Growl installed you will get a message saying that your URL was shortened, and the shortened URL will be copied to your clipboard.

Thanks to HumanSoul.org and TruMcgowan for taking the time to create these.
