Pond5 launches major update of its video plug-in to Adobe Premiere Pro

Pond5, the marketplace for royalty-free video footage, has launched a major update to its free plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro CC. The software, which launched last year, lets video editors access some 5 million royalty-free video and audio clips.

The updated version offers faster search and importing, instant checkout and access to some 10,000 free public domain video clips.

The public domain library, which was not available in the previous version, includes loads of additional footage and audio. This version is also HTML5-friendly, so everything runs a lot smoother and faster than before, according to Pond5.

With the free plug-in, editors can import watermarked comps into their projects, add effects and test their clips. Once the videographer is ready to purchase, a single button automates the process of buying, downloading and replacing low-resolution previews with high-resolution files.
