Is there anything in life more exquisite and delicious than gourmet chocolates? We didn’t think so either, at least until we stumbled across this delectable Kickstarter campaign for personalized, custom shaped chocolates using a unique blend of 3D printing and molding techniques.
Piq Chocolates is the creation of MIT engineer Levi Lalla and Donovan Crowley, who wants to leverage the advancements and interest in 3D printing for rather more edible and artistic purposes. If they hit their $25,000 crowdfunding goal before November 11, you’ll be able to design and order your very own custom chocolates from the comfort of your living room.
The Web-based tools will allow you to upload your own images, as well as move, rotate and resize them, to finalize your perfect design. Piq Chocolates will show you a real-time, 3D rendering of the final product during the design process and they’ll even be delivered to your doorstep once you’ve confirmed the order.
Whether it’s for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, an upcoming anniversary or birthday, we imagine these personalized treats will go down a storm.
