Periscope’s Apple TV app is now ready for your weekend binge-watching

Periscope’s Apple TV app is now ready for your weekend binge-watching

As expected, Periscope has come to Apple TV. The streaming service launched an Apple TV app today, just in time for the retail launch of Apple’s new streaming box.

In many ways, Periscope seems more at home on Apple TV than mobile. Streams show up as large thumbnails that pop out as you hover over them.

Those broadcasts also take up the full screen of your TV, if shot in landscape. You’ll get the same experience as you would through mobile while viewing a broadcast, replete with floating hearts and comments popping up.

When a broadcast ends, Periscope automatically shifts you to another with its (now) aptly named Couch Mode feature. You can also leave the stream you’re watching at any time.

As for what’s next, Periscope says it’s going to listen to users before making any changes. At least its periscope.tv URL finally makes sense.
