Path founder Dave Morin reveals social journal app is now being opened more than 1b times a month

Path CEO Dave Morin has revealed that the personal (or private) social network’s app is being opened more than a billion times each month.

This news comes following the company’s hiring of former Salesforce Vice President of Software Kallol Das as its head of engineering. In this capacity, Das will be responsible for helping to “make sure that as Path continues its journey towards success, we deal with scale on any number of angles.”

Being opened more than 1 billion times a month is an impressive feat. Perhaps this statistic has helped spur the company to open up its API to a select few services to encourage more usage. Last week, it announced that WordPress, Strava, Viddy, and 10 other services had the ability to import memories into Path, joining Nike.

Path has more than 12 million users.
