Opera’s Coast browser launched on iOS earlier this year and it’s now time for another major update. Opera Coast 4.0 has just arrived with a host new content-focused features and Handoff support baked in.
The biggest new feature in Opera Coast 4.0 is Discover, which serves up a selection of top stories and articles from across the web when you search in the app.
Under the hood, Opera has incorporated its Turbo data-saving technology into Coast 4.0. Keep it switched on and the browser will automatically compress content when you’re on GPRS/Edge networks or using international roaming.
Coast has also gained a new share button for flinging links to social services including Facebook, Twitter, Vkontakte, WhatsApp and Line. Instead of simply sending the link, it creates an image which you can caption like a postcard.
Handoff support in Coast means you can now jump from browsing on your tablet or phone to your Mac via a compatible browser.
Opera’s also added landscape mode on the search and home screens plus a new widescreen layout for iPhone 6 Plus users.
You can grab the Opera Coast update from the App Store now.
