Update: Facebook is back after that 30-minute outage, and the company has provided comment:

Earlier today, we experienced an issue that prevented people from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time.
We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Yes, if you’ve found yourself unable to get your daily fix of BuzzFeed listicles, cat pics and baby photos worry not — it seems that you are not alone since the social network is down worldwide. The company’s mobile apps and developer platform are also affected.

The outage began at 00:55 PDT, as downdetector shows. Ordinarily that wouldn’t be a big deal, but when the site is question happens to be the world’s largest social network — which serves over 1 billion people and is linked to other services across the web — then it’s noteworthy.
