Nokia’s Symbian Anna update for N8, C7, C6-01 and E7 now available

Nokia’s Symbian Anna update for N8, C7, C6-01 and E7 now available

Owners of the first generation of Nokia’s Symbian^3 smartphones – particularly the Nokia N8, C7, C6-01 and E7 – will now be able to download the latest Symbian Anna update, after the Finnish mobile giant made it available via both its Ovi software and the software update option on the specified devices.

The new update brings with it new icons, improved keyboard and maps, slip-screen typing and an faster, slicker browser. Maps now include a better search function, transport routes and have been given added social options, whilst Nokia has bumped up email support, hardware-accelerated encryption and secure intranet access.

Owners of the Nokia C7 will now have NFC capabilities activated.

To download the update, Nokia smartphone owners simply need to connect their device to the Ovi Suite or they can prompt an update using the SW update option on their device. Nokia warns that due to the size of the update, it’s suggested that smartphone owners uses the Ovi Suite to perform the upgrade.

Symbian Anna will be availble to Nokia device owners in Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, UAE and the UK, with more countries confirmed to receive the next update over the next three weeks.
