Nokia’s Lumia 930 will go on sale across the world this week for $599, but not the US

Nokia unveiled a new high-end smartphone in its Lumia series at Microsoft’s Build 2014 conference in April this year, the Lumia 930. Today Microsoft announced that the device will go on sale this week in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and will continue rolling out globally over the coming weeks — except in the US.

The Lumia 930, with a recommended price of $599, comes with a 5-inch display, wireless charging and a 20-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. It’s powered by a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor. In the UK, SIM-free pricing for the Lumia 930 isn’t confirmed yet, but is available starting at around £33 per month on contract, variable according to operator and tariff.

It isn’t headed to the US as Nokia plans to focus on the Lumia Icon and the Lumia 1520 there instead.
