Nokia Music for Windows Phone 8 adds new releases and gig notifications for your favorite artists

Nokia Music for Windows Phone 8 adds new releases and gig notifications for your favorite artists

The Nokia Music app has been updated today for Windows Phone 8 handsets with notifications and favorite artists, keeping users updated whenever a musician releases a new record or announces a concert in their local area.

MusicNowPlaying-Texas-More-FaveUsers can now ‘like’ artists as they navigate the app, adding them to a new ‘favorites’ section in the menu. The app will also add existing artists based on users’ listening habits and what they already have stored int their music library.

Favorites then link in to the new notification system; the app will now send users a message whenever one of their chosen artists releases a new album or single, as well as upcoming gigs as soon as they’re announced.

By pinning the Nokia Music app to their home screen, users can also pick up these updates via the Live Tile and their Lock Screen.
