Earlier this week, we reported that Nokia was introducing its HERE maps app to Android, though it’s launching initially as a Samsung exclusive.

While it seemed inevitable that it would roll-out eventually to the broader Android smartphone ecosystem, Nokia has now confirmed that this is indeed the case. In fact, Nokia tells us that it will be expanding across Android AND onto iOS before the year is out.

As with its existing Windows Phone version and soon-to-launch incarnation for Samsung Galaxy, HERE will work sans internet, letting you download entire countries and regions. HERE has been available on iOS before, but it was pulled from the App Store last December after a year in existence.
