Think there’s no good use for a camera in Nintendo DSi? Wrong! Check this Amazing DSi Game

Think there’s no good use for a camera in Nintendo DSi? Wrong! Check this Amazing DSi Game

Many people were skeptical when Nintendo put cameras in their Nintendo DSi portable system. Sure your kids can take and share photos of their friends and family, but where is the novelty?

Well here it is!

The movement and game controls using the DSi’s camera are really natural and realistic looking! Similar to the way many augmented reality apps are controlled, but in this case the view is of the game world not the real world.

Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda is a game where you search for different objects in 3D diorama-type levels. It’s a downloadable DSi Ware game, that comes out March 3rd and thus far will only be available in Japan.

This is a great example of the kind of controls and interaction that cameras can bring to games and other user interfaces.

I for one hope to see more innovative use of the camera on DSi games and smartphones as well. Smartphones have had cameras for years, come on software and game developers lets see more new and natural ways to play games or control the user interface using the camera!
