Rupert Murdoch has dropped a bombshell while in Sydney for the latest News Corporation earnings call hinting that News may be planning to make all their content un-indexable by Google.
While it’s hardly a definitive statement, it’s interesting that it was made during an interview with a journo from a News owned media outlet.
My guess, Rupert isn’t silly enough to think that there is more value in News content being hidden than there is in it being searchable. Rather, this is probably just Rupert further positioning News in what he believes will be upcoming negotiations around accessibility to content by search engines.
