New Sky+ EPG homepage rolling out today, makes it easier to find on-demand content alongside live TV

New Sky+ EPG homepage rolling out today, makes it easier to find on-demand content alongside live TV

TV Home page across devices

British broadcaster BSkyb has announced that its customers with HD boxes will start seeing a new electronic programme guide (EPG) that puts less of a focus on live TV from today.

Rather than following the traditional route of telling you what’s being broadcast at any given time, the EPG will now include a range of on-demand content (whether that’s catch-up TV, box sets, or movies) as well as live TV. There’s also quick access to the Sky Store from the homepage too.

The company noted that the Sky+ app is also being updated to stay consistent with the changes to the EPG. Among the new features there are the new homepage design, a ‘highlights’ carousel and an apparently much demanded feature that lets you turn your Sky+ box’s power on and off from the app.
