VR is an immersive experience — but perhaps a little too immersive. With a device strapped to your face, it can be difficult to do simple things like respond to text messages, phone calls, and other trappings of real life. While you might want an escape every once in a while, your family might want to know you’re alive.

That’s where a new app from HTC, available today for iOS, come into play. It allows you to link your phone to your headset to receive notifications and ostensibly prevent your family from calling a search party to find you.

Connected via Bluetooth, the app will give you reminders in the headset for incoming phone calls, text messages, and calendar reminders. That way, you can enjoy your games in peace without forgetting about your real world obligations.
