With Amazon beginning to ship its new Kindle Fire tablets in the UK just five days ago, ensuring that its video streaming service LoveFilm was pre-installed, its US rival Netflix has today embarked on its campaign to lure some users away, with the launch of its own Kindle Fire app in UK and Ireland.

Netflix has offered a Kindle Fire app (as well as a dedicated app for other Android devices) for nearly a year, but with Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets launching in Europe, the company is ensuring that its customers can enjoy a consistent mobile experience, no matter their choice of device.

Amazon has made it easy for Kindle Fire owners to connect their LoveFilm accounts to their tablets by enabling the linking of Amazon accounts, which also work if accessed via the Web, PS3, Xbox, iPad or Samsung/Sony connected TV. However, it does require customers to first log in on their Kindle Fire tablets in order to enable it.

To download the Netflix app, simply head to the Amazon Appstore on your device and perform a search for the app. Alternatively, you can use the link below.
