If you’re the proud owner of a Nest Cam home surveillance system, you may be glad to hear that you can now view your camera feeds directly on your Android TV, with compatibility for Apple TV coming soon.

The functionality is baked into a new update that started making its way to the Nest application for Android via the Play Store earlier today.

Also bundled into the upgrade is the facility to generate “instaclips” of events that show up in your Nest Cam feed, which can then be saved locally or shared with contacts using iMessage, email, WhatsApp or social media.

Prior to this release, events would show up in your feed, but you’d have no way of saving them for an extended period of time or sharing them with other people who might find them interesting.

The full changelog can be seen below:

  • Nest Cam customers with Nest Aware can create, save, and share video clips to your phone or share them with family and friends from the Nest app.
  • View your Nest Cam video feed in fullscreen mode without rotating your phone. Simply tap the down arrow icon below the camera window.
  • Now you can edit all device Notifications settings from the Home settings menu.
  • Have Android TV? Try the new Nest app for Android TV and view all of your Nest Cam video feeds right from your TV.

To install the upgrade on your handset, all you have to do is open up the Play Store, swipe in from the left-hand side of the display, select ‘My Apps,’ click on Nest, then hit the big ‘Update’ button.
