If you’re looking for a way to turn your everyday social updates into something a little more fun, MyLaddr could be the app you’ve been waiting for.

Launched this month, the iOS app allows you to accumulate points for your social activity and creates a leaderboard between you and your friends. It tracks all sorts of things, from a quiet drink after work, to paintballing, to a weekend away in Vegas.

The idea is that MyLaddr and the element of competition motivates you to go out into the real world and do things with your real friends. As such, when adding events to your profile (you have to log-in via Facebook, there’s no way around this) to claim your points, you can tag the friends that were also present so they get the points they’re owed too.

Don’t go thinking you can just say you’ve done things you haven’t though. You have to provide evidence in the form of a photo. And while you have the option of publishing it to your Facebook Wall, you’re not obliged, you can keep all the updates within your MyLaddr stream.

The app will also categorize you according to the type of activities you like doing the most frequently, and score you against similarly categorized users. So, if you go to the cinema a lot, don’t be surprised if you’re deemed a movie buff.

Naturally, as the platform is tied to Facebook, it also provides pretty easy access for adding new friends to your leaderboard.
