Google Chromecast now supports Songza, Vevo, Plex, RealPlayerCloud and six other apps

Google’s Chromecast device today received an influx of support for new streaming content services from the likes of VEVO, Songza, Red Bull.TV, PostTV, Viki, Revision 3, and BeyondPod.

As well as adding support for streaming services, a post on Google+ confirmed that you can now also cast your own personal media using Plex, Avia or RealPlayer Cloud.

As referenced in our original post – we spotted Songza first and have since updated this post to reflect the availability of more apps – Songza (shown below) is one of the newly supported services and can be Cast via its website or mobile app.

Following the update, a ‘Cast’ icon will be shown whenever it is possible to send Songza content to a big screen – and all it takes is just one tap.

Alas, people outside of the US and Canada still can’t access the service though due to licensing restrictions on the music.
