Music from 30 Rock, Mad Men, Avatar soundtracks and more now available for YouTube users

Thanks to a new partnership between Rumblefish and APM Music, if you’re looking for more music to spice up your YouTube videos, legally, a new library of songs has opened up to the public.

Rumblefish, the largest music catalog for social media,  has been available since early 2011 through the Rumblefish API and Friendly Music, making it easy for users to access and use over 400,000 songs in their online vidoes, and web and mobile apps. APM Music, a joint venture of EMI Music Publishing and Universal Music Publishing, has now added its vast catalog of songs into the mix.

With Rumblefish’s copyright cleared collection, you can search for the song of your choice using genre, mood, tempo, among other criteria, making it easy to find the perfect tune to go with your work.

Most songs on Rumblefish are priced at $1.99 each, and if you’re struggling to find the right song for you video or production, you can always checkout the curated playlists with suggestions on which songs suit the mood you’re going for.

Now while you can’t expect to find any top-selling recording artists in the list, APM Music’s library of over 350,000 tracks opens up a world of music that has already been used by major networks and production companies in some of TV’s most popular shows and films, including Avatar, The Hangover, Mad Men, 30 Rock  and Californication.

“Hundreds of millions of people are producing user-generated video content and sharing it online. This partnership furthers APM’s social media efforts, making it even easier for consumers to access the same music used in their favorite films, TV shows, video games and commercials,” APM Music president Adam Taylor said.

He added, “Making our music available through the Rumblefish API and Friendly Music consumer store expands our ability to have our library in personal use videos. Rumblefish has developed a real expertise in social media distribution and we are happy to be working with them to leverage our catalog.”
