Missing Orange Wednesdays? EE’s replacement is a £1 weekly movie rental

Missing Orange Wednesdays? EE’s replacement is a £1 weekly movie rental

When EE announced it was killing off the much loved Orange Wednesdays promotion, which offered two-for-one cinema tickets, at the end of last year, it promised a replacement. Now it’s here – a £1 film rental from Rakuten’s lesser-known streaming service Wuaki.tv.

The promotion, which the company’s calling EE Film Club, launches on March 30. It’ll allow EE, Orange and T-Mobile customers to text the word ‘film’ to 141 and get a promotional code that’s valid from Monday to Wednesday.

EE says you’ll be able to choose from “a wide range of films – including new releases” but that’s still not quite as exciting as being able to head to the cinema to see a new flick.

The £1 rentals will be valid for 48 hours and can be streamed on Android, iOS, PC and Mac, as well as the company’s own EE TV box.
