Microsoft recently announced the launch of its online services in India which include e-mail, collaboration, conferencing and productivity capabilities. This concept would definitely work for small and medium business (SMB) with cloud computing in mind, helping them cope up with the small IT budgets.
Microsoft had announced the trial launch for its online services in July 2009, in which thousands of customers in India tried the online services.
The company has also partnered with HCL Infosystems, Infosys and Wipro to market and offer value-added services around the Microsoft Online Services. This could reduce the IT cost to 10-15 % for SMBs.
The Online Services‘ include:
- Exchange Online
- Office SharePoint Online
- Office Live Meeting
- Exchange Hosted Services
- Office Communications Online
It will be available in India from Saturday 7th November 2009.
The standard suite will cost the end-users $10; they could choose individual offerings at the rate of $5 per user per month for Exchange Online, $5.25 per user per month for SharePoint. The subscription fee for Office Communication Online is $2 per month per user and for Office Live Meeting is $4.50 per user per month.
