Microsoft overhauls Bing’s music video discovery with a dynamic carousel

Microsoft today overhauled Bing’s music video discovery system with a dynamic carousel. Searching for an artist will show you their top songs, and you can also browse by album, all without leaving the page.

This update has been in development for “the past several months,” and the company says it was driven by the fact that searching for music videos is fundamentally different than searching for other types of video. Microsoft’s search session data showed the company when people search for music videos “they tend to explore rather than finding what they were looking for and then moving on.” The more unique experiences the company can create for specific types of searches, the more competitive Bing will become.
