Microsoft announces Project passes 20 million users, Project Lite coming on May 1 for $7 per user per month

Microsoft today held Project Conference 2014, where it made a few announcements related to its project management software program. The company revealed there are now more than 20 million people using Microsoft Project in businesses ranging in size from startups to enterprises.

At the same time, Microsoft introduced Project Lite, a new cloud-based tool launching on May 1, 2014. The company describes Project Lite as designed specifically for project team members, with features to view/update Tasks as well as enter Issues/Risks and Timesheets. It is priced at $7 per user per month, compared to the original $33 per user per month with an annual subscription.
