Outlook for Android and iOS can now import your Facebook, Evernote and Wunderlist tasks

Outlook for Android and iOS can now import your Facebook, Evernote and Wunderlist tasks

Outlook is about to get a lot more useful on Android and iOS. Microsoft is today introducing Calendar Apps, allowing you to integrate your calendars from a variety of your apps, which so far include Facebook, Wunderlist and Evernote.

The feature is being ported over from Sunrise, an email client Microsoft bought back in February 2015. To access the new Calendar Apps, simply swipe from the left side of your screen while in Outlook’s calendar view, and then tap on ‘Add.’

The apps go a bit beyond simply adding events to Outlook too. For example, once you’ve connected Facebook, you can RSVP to events and view details and location. Meanwhile Wunderlist and Evernote will both allow you to see your to-do lists and notes right from the calendar.

It’s Microsoft’s way of differentiating Outlook from Gmail – instead of just being your email client, Outlook’s trying to be more of an all-in-one productivity solution. And though the selection is sparse right now, Calendar Apps could help you keep your schedule all in one place.

If you want to give the feature a shot, the update rolling out for Android and iOS now.
