Michelle Obama is now on Snapchat

Michelle Obama is now on Snapchat

Michelle Obama, probably the coolest First Lady of all time, has just joined Snapchat.

According to The Verge, Mrs. Obama will use the account to post snaps from the White House and give followers a behind-the-scenes view of her daily life and events with the president throughout the year.

She’s kicking off her social media venture with a trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain next week as part of the White House’s ‘Let Girls Learn‘ program, along with Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto. She’ll present her journey as a Snapchat Story.

Though it’s easy to make fun of one of the most powerful women in the world joining a social media platform often viewed as being “just for teens,” it’s one of the simplest ways for the First Lady to reach a huge audience of (future) voters and taxpayers.
