Just in case you missed it, the Digg saga has come to an end, with the site selling itself for a measly $500K (or more, according to AllThingsD) to Betaworks.

Since this is a monumental day in the era of social technology, we thought we’d share this gem with you. It was on an episode of The Screensavers on TechTV, with Kevin Rose.

Here, he shows off some new sites, in a segment about potential “Slashdot Killers.” One of them is of course, Digg. Does Kevin tell us that it’s his site though? You be the judge. Doesn’t matter anymore now, does it?

Part of me wishes the site stayed exactly as it was depicted below, nice and simple.

Enjoy!
