Meerkat now lets you embed its livestream videos on the Web

Meerkat now lets you embed its livestream videos on the Web

Not to be outdone by Periscope’s Web replay integration this week, Meerkat is now allowing users to embed its videos on any website.

Previously, to watch Meerkat videos, you had to click through from the direct link or watch via the Meerkat app. Now, users have the option to embed a video from any Meerkat account in portrait, square, or big square formats. They can also opt to autoplay the video in mute, upload a custom cover image and choose to display viewer interactions.

The hope, of course, is to still be able to steer users away from Periscope by making its content more accessible. And so the livestreaming war wages on.
