Lyft’s ‘Premier’ option has arrived to get you out of a Prius and into a BMW

Lyft’s ‘Premier’ option has arrived to get you out of a Prius and into a BMW

Lyft is following Uber down the luxury ride rabbit hole. Starting today, you can request a ‘Premier’  ride, which will bring luxury cars and SUVs to your door instead of a Prius.

Specifically, Lyft says you can expect vehicles like the “BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Lexus ES or Cadillac Escalade.”

Unfortunately, it’s only offering Premier in three locations to start. New York, Los Angeles and “the Bay Area” will be able to try out the high-end service starting today. There’s no word on when it may roll out to a wider audience, but the company says it will expand the service “soon.”

New users can also get a 20 percent discount on their first 10 Lyft Premier rides using the code ‘LYFTPREMIER20’ on checkout.

It’s nothing new; Uber has been offering its ‘Select’ service for quite some time, and it’s available just about anywhere Uber is. But, for people who prefer Lyft (or just don’t like Uber), this is a nice addition, even if it is late to the game.
