Location sharing app Glympse overhauled for Windows Phone 8, launched for Kindle Fire devices

Location sharing app Glympse overhauled for Windows Phone 8, launched for Kindle Fire devices

Glympse, the app that lets you share your location with friends in real-time, has been overhauled for Windows Phone 8 bringing new features to the platform.

Among the new options is the ability to share your location with a friend via an international phone number and the ability to keep sharing your location even when the app is running in the background, which had been a significant limitation of the previous version. The company said it had also made it easier to launch a Glympse link in the app too, before, people that received a link could only view someone’s location in the browser.

Alongside the updated app, Glympse also launched a build for Kindle Fire tablets, marking its first foray into Amazon’s device ecosystem.
