If you’re not familiar with the ‘Lego: Star Wars’ games, you might be missing out as a fan of a story a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. All of the previous installments of the films have been reenacted with minifigs with a wink to the audience — they always know how to give fan service.
And that’s no different in the official teaser trailer for ‘Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ which will hit shelves on June 28. The trailer initially leaked twelve hours ago, but full confirmation from Warner Bros. Entertainment, as told to Variety, means that all systems are go.
The teaser takes some of the most popular dramatic beats from that much-viewed trailer and flips them in goofy ways to fit the plastic universe.
Lego Finn is initially annoyed by his awakening. Where did that clock come from?
Still incredibly cute Lego BB-8 lets the dunes get the best of them.
And the menacing Kylo Ren just…can’t…make…his…light…saber…work!
Oh and there’s a glimpse of one of the most coveted build sets in Lego history — er, I mean, the Millenium Falcon.
The jokes are just everywhere.
So if you like Star Wars, Lego and humor, this game looks like it’s going to deliver. I guess we’ll see this summer.
