Next week, LAUNCH will be holding a conference to highlight the top innovation in education, which is an underserved vertical in technology.
As we’ve noted before, the future of technology has quite a bit to do with the future of education as a whole. Now that coding and Internet courses are being taught at very early stages in schools all over the world, there’s a unique opportunity to boost that progress, as well as mold the future of the space.
The conference, which is being held on June 12th and 13th, will feature 30 companies that are focusing on education. I have been invited to be a judge and am pretty excited to see what these folks have up their sleeves.
In addition to demos and presentations from these startups, there will be some inspiring speakers, including the founder of Atari, Nolan K Bushnell, and the CEO of Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, Marshall Tuck.
There are a lot of challenges when it comes to building application to be used in schools, especially when it comes to safety and privacy. These are the reasons why most entrepreneurs stay away from the space. It’s simply too difficult, and there’s not a lot of funding to be had.
I’m hoping that this LAUNCH conference can kick open some doors for those teams who are deciding to fight the good fight. If you’re an educator, you can score a free ticket here.
You can find more information about the conference here, along with a full list of participating companies, and we’ll be covering some of the great innovation that we see.
