In a move that mirrors rival Uber, Hailo has today announced that its public API for on-demand transport is now available for developers to integrate into their apps.
It would seem that a Wednesday in mid-August is the day to launch your transport API – either that or Hailo didn’t want Uber grabbing all the limelight with its announcement today. Whichever it is, developers can now include in-app information from Hailo’s service such as ride availability and the estimated time of arrival of a nearby car.
The move follows the integration of Hailo with Citymapper back in July, which is what spurred the decision to make it more widely available to third-parties, the company said. While it is now available to use, interested developers will need to contact [email protected] for further details.
