LinkedIn says it’ll stop littering your inbox, don’t believe it

If you check your email right now, you probably have at least one email from LinkedIn telling you something nobody cares about.

The company is well known for its awful email tactics, sending constant notifications that are virtually unstoppable.

It’s now vowed to change those ways. In a blog post, the company said that it’s finally toning down the spam.

The company plans to reduce emails by almost half, saying that “for every 10 emails we used to send, we’ve removed 4 of them.” It’ll also start intelligently grouping lots of similar emails into a weekly digest.

LinkedIn also reiterated in its post that users can control their email settings and each email contains an unsubscribe link, but in my experience that never helped at all.

My solution was to just block all LinkedIn email through the use of an email filter. ¯\_()_/¯

I’ll believe it when I see it, though it’s nice to see LinkedIn is becoming a little more aware of how annoying it can be.
