Jumpshare has launched a paid-for version of its cloud-based storage service called Jumpshare Plus, which brings new features like password protection and scheduled sharing to the platform.
Like Dropbox, Droplr, CloudApp, Infinit and the swathes of other cloud storage services, Jumpshare lets users store all sorts of different file types, but unlike some of the others, it lets users preview more than 200 different file types before downloading them. It also supports multi-threaded uploading for speedier transfers.
The $10 per month Jumpshare Plus ($108 per year, if you pay in advance) plan also adds a timed (one day, two days, one week, one month etc.) self-destruct option for files too, meaning that the contents of the chosen folder and files within will be removed once time is up. Storage is currently set at 50GB for Jumpshare Plus.
For small businesses, Jumpshare says that soon customers will be able to have their own brand slapped on the service and a custom URL, too.
For now, Jumpshare’s biggest limiting factor (presuming storage space of 50GB is enough for you) is that it’s only available via the Web or the dedicated Mac app. However, a Windows version is coming “next week”, according to a blog post and there are Android and iOS apps on the way too.
