Jive Software acquires Meetings.io and Producteev for its social business platform

Jive Software acquires Meetings.io and Producteev for its social business platform

Producteev’s Ilan Abehassera has announced via blog post that the company has been acquired by social business software firm Jive. Producteev’s apps will live on and, of course, get more Jive integration.

In addition, browser-based chat and video communication platform Meetings.io (and its company Bitplay, Inc.) has also been acquired by Jive. A monetary amount was not disclosed for either acquisition.

Producteev

Producteev is a multi-platform task management platform that has been around for a little over two years and had raised $1.8M in funding. The whole team will be moving to Jive’s headquarters in Palo Alto.

“Producteev will be even stronger in the coming years,” says Abehassera, “with more resources, with lots of amazing updates to the product, news apps (!!), and obviously, smart integration points to Jive, so you can collaborate with your team on more than tasks (think discussions, blogs, ideas, files…).”

Here’s Abehassera explaining why he’s joining up with Jive:

“We had a couple of options for the future,” says Abehassera, “like raising a bigger round, but Jive approached us with a highly seducing one: “We love what you do, we love the product, join us, and we’ll give you more resources to build a real software leader”.

Producteev offers task management apps for multiple platforms including the Mac, Windows, web, iPhone and Android. The apps allow for team collaboration and task management across all of the platforms.

We’ve gotten praise for Producteev from people like Doreen Bloch of Poshly. “It’s easy to set up, easy to use, and fantastic for team members who are working on many projects at the same time with others. There is space to comment on projects to maximize productive collaboration, and it’s all about getting tasks done.”

Meetings.iO

Meetings.io provides the ability for business to quickly fire up video and chat connections without having to fiddle around with heavy clients. Instead, a simple link is provided, which allows you to share and re-use a meeting room, with no signup required.

“We would like to thank all of our customers for using Meetings.io and providing valuable feedback to help us grow,” Meetings.io’s Amanda Pires says. “Meetings.io will continue to operate as is, and in the future our product will be integrated into the Jive platform. Rest assured, our product will only get better with Jive’s resources, support, and expertise.”

Meetings.io is a free service, and Pires says that it will remain so for now.

Tony Zingale, chairman and CEO of Jive says that “we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome these talented teams to Jive, who will help us accelerate the innovation and power of our platform for the benefit of our customers.”

Both Meetings.io and Producteev will continue to offer their apps as standalone offerings, and Jive will integrate support for the apps in their platforms by 2013.
